VERY educational! May 27, 2007 truffleshuffle (England) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
My three year old nephew is now counting backwards with the Numberjacks, singing the theme song and joining in the activities the Numberjacks set at the end of each episode (eg, look for circles around the house, look for things that come in pairs). It is absolutely brilliant! You won't be disappointed with this DVD!
This is great! May 22, 2007 busyworkingmum (uk) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have 2 preschool children and they are both totally enthralled with this DVD. I bought it on a whim because it looked educational and was fed up with the usual Barbie dvd stories. The children have really surprised me in their enthusiasm for the stories and have learnt their numbers without any any help or encouragment from me. I can highly recommend this product, although it's impossible to get the theme tune out of your head.
A good way to get children interested in numbers May 7, 2007 Marshall Lord (Whitehaven, UK) 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
My 5-year old children are fascinated by the "Numberjacks" programme, but unfortunately it tends to come on a few minutes before they have to leave to go to school. So I bought them the DVD. They have watched it avidly three times over the bank holiday weekend. My little boy even offered to get rid of all his other DVDs and videos (of Thomas the Tank Engine, Bob the Builder, etc) and just watch Numberjacks. The antics of the "numberjacks" who are pocket superheroes in the shape of numbers, are designed to keep children entertained while getting them interested in simple arithmetic puzzles, developing their powers of observation, and teaching them to spot patterns. For parents: if you want to get your child to start thinking about how numbers fit together, I can recommend this DVD. If you want to get them out of your hair for 30 minutes so you can tidy up the mess they've made, get a meal ready, or just collapse for half an hour's badly needed rest, I can also recommend it.
