It may please hardcore fans, but... January 17, 2006 4 out of 23 found this review helpful
This movie is really a feature-length version of every one of the TV programmes. Inevitably, there will be a few little yelling sessions ("you're a RUBBISH social worker!" etc) and storming upstairs. The story is unclear, the acting mediocre (to be kind!) and the directing and general photography is as unimaginative as you'll find. You'll find your eyes wandering increasingly as the film progresses. It has both unfunny humour (possibly the most annoying fault in a film) and saccharine sentimentality. The good points about the film: well, it is pretty faithful to the book, but not as funny. The verdict: if your son/daughter (daughter, I presume!) is a hardcore fan, as in, never misses a programme fan, then fine. If your child is under ten, the (rather puerile) humour will probably appeal to them. For others - well, anyone who can't not get enough of a shrieking and ever-defiant youngster/anyone who hasn't been immunised to the invariable sugary-ness of this film: steer clear!

Tracy Beaker - a hit! August 23, 2005 Boney M (Reading, Berks) 18 out of 19 found this review helpful
My three children (two boys of 6 and 8 and a daughter of 5) have watched this film several times already and love it! They watch the tv episodes of Tracy Beaker every day without fail despite having seen them hundreds of times before. The movie, like the tv series, is a mixture of laughter and tears - a definite hit in my household.
a review by me for the movie of me August 9, 2005 lauren (England) 17 out of 19 found this review helpful
As a lover of tracy beaker anyway it was obvious i would love this movie.I don't usually cry in movies but tracy beaker is probably my no.1 tearjerker. This film was funny at times but it also had some serious parts as tracy meets her mum again. I highly reccommend this to any girl between 5 and 16. If you don't love it the moment you set your eyes on it i don't know how you can live! Buy it now!
