My daughter had to have a pink toy guitar WITH strings for Christmas. Buttons alone would not have cut it. We searched all over and what we found kept coming up short. Then we found the Bratz Kidz Music Stars Guitar on Amazon. This guitar is an awesome, bold pink color and not only has strings but buttons and a slider as well! Each option keeps the music rolling. My litte girl absolutely loves it. Overall, I think it is a nice toy for girls her age (five) and I would rate it well. It has a strap and is lightweight enough for her to hold easily. One feature that I really liked is that the music actually sounds good and doesn't blare loudly. Also, the strings aren't strung too tightly so you don't have to worry that they will pop. It is a lot more realistic a portrayal of a guitar than average toy guitars on the market. Safety wise, I do feel that it is safe for the age that it is marketed to. Some parents might worry about their child wrapping the strap around their neck. However, with proper use that should not be a problem. The strings are well strung and there don't appear to be any small parts or pieces to break off or snag. I wouldn't say that it is an educational toy but I don't believe that it was marketed as one. However, I do feel that music education is important and extremely therapeutic. A toy like this could encourage a child to become more curious about music and who knows where that could lead.

I have never seen this toy, but am buying it for my daughter for Christmas. The low rating is to make sure other buyers shop around for the best price because I just paid less than half the price listed here, plus got free shipping for in-store pick-up when it arrives. I like convenience, but this is ridiculous and other amazon shoppers do not deserve to get ripped off.
