I just purchased the doll for my 2-year old for Christmas. She carries the doll everywhere. The doll comes with a CD and I will admit that when I first put the CD in my computer I received an error message that the program wouldn't run but I just browsed the CD using Windows explorer and manually ran the setup.exe file and the software worked like a charm! My daughter's name is not very common so it was so nice to see her name listed on the cd. You can program your child's favorite foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as you can program Dora to say when it's nap time, bed time, etc. You can also program 3 of your child's friends' names into the doll. My daughter just loves her Dora doll!! My only complaint is the actual battery pack is hard to stuff into the doll after you program it and the CD doesn't run automatically but those are minor problems.

The reviews with people complaining about errors have a problem with their computer and it is easily fixable when you google the error. There are several fixes out there and they are all free. I received the error on my pc at work and then used another pc and it worked fine. I later googled the error and was able to fix it on my pc. This is a great gift for any child that loves Dora.
She's cute, but be prepared to say a few choice words while trying to get her voice-box in!!! October 10, 2008

Dora is cute and works great. BUT, I almost NEVER thought I would get her voice-box in. At one point, I almost gave up. I finally got it in after rearranging some stuffing inside her.
I love how many name choices she has, though. My daughter also has a unique name and I was delighted that Dora knows it. ;-)

We got the doll and it was really difficult to install and get the program to work, once I actually got it working, I found out that I have to install it over again everytime I want to use the disk.... And then I tried to install all the information into the doll and it didnt reconize the doll!!! Anyway, I called Toys 'R' us and they are affialiated with amazon and they will take her as a return and are givng me a new one. So if you do have a problem, just take it back to Toys 'R' us and make sure you have your amazon receipt and they will take it back. This makes it a lot easier than trying to mail her back or talk so service people who dont know what is going on.
Anyway she is a cute doll and my 2 and 1 year old love her!! We bought 2 of them, it is definatly worth it if you get one that works!!

I purchased this doll for my niece as a Christmas gift. Although she has lots of Dora dolls this one became her favorite. Is a really fun doll and I would recommend.
