Amazon.com They step onto the stage of London's Royal Albert Hall: Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, and Eric Clapton. The capacity crowd, which includes Sean Penn and Jude Law, stands to greet them. Thirty-seven years after their farewell concert, the famously fiery Cream did the unthinkable--they reunited. This double-disc collection (and accompanying CD set) captures highlights from the historic four-day engagement, beginning with a buoyant "I'm So Glad" and ending with a triumphant "Sunshine of Your Love." It would be churlish to suggest that Cream appears exactly as they did in the 1960s (Bruce looks a little frail), but the legendary power trio still has the goods. Bruce is still the essence of soul (a particularly rich vocal on "Politician"), while Baker is as irrepressible as ever (a rare vocal on "Pressed Rat and Warthog," percussive tour-de-force "Toad"). Then there's Clapton, who remains as much a master of the guitar as of understatement. "Thanks for waiting all these years," he quips after a slow-burning "Outside Woman Blues," then adds, "We're going to do every song we know." The track listing is, indeed, generous, despite the absence of such Cream classics as "I Feel Free," "Strange Brew," and "Tales of Brave Ulysses." All told, there are 22 songs plus three alternate takes--and not a bad one in the bunch. --Kathleen C. Fennessy
Product Description In May of 2005 Cream returned to London's Royal Albert Hall--to the same stage where they had done what was thought be their final performance in 1968. It was one of the most eagerly anticipated hard-to-get tickets in Rock history. With the exception of a brief reunion set at their 1993 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Cream had not played together in nearly four decades. This DVD documents Cream's momentous London shows Performance from each of the four nights are featured. Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: MUSIC DVD/CONCERTS UPC: 603497216628 Manufacturer No: 972166-2

Cream and HD-DVD at their best! November 12, 2008 R. Cochran (Charlotte, NC) This HD-DVD is simply amazing. Yes, the format lost to Blu-Ray but there are so many great titles to be had and my Toshiba HD-A2 is running strong. I saw this concert at a friends house and knew I had to have it. The video and audio presentation is top notch and if you are a Cream fan or just a Clapton fan then you will love it. This is my favorite HD-DVD without a doubt. Highly recommended.
Cream Reunion 2005 April 1, 2008 William J. Chartier (Rhode Island) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The HD DVD arrived within several days in perfect condition. The quality of video and sound are superb! You can choose between Dolby 5.1 or Stereo for playback. I chose Dolby and felt like I was at the live concert. The attention to detail with the multiple camera angles is also amazing. This concert really brought me back. I have played it several times with friends (including musicians) and they're impressed with its live feel.
Clapton, Bruce and Baker...Icons! March 18, 2008 T. Denny Anyone who appreciates classic iconic rock should NOT let this one pass them by. Defintitely the BEST purchase I have made on HD DVD to date. Clapton, Bruce, and Baker are still superb and are yet as good or better than 95% of the bands playing today. These 3 play so tight together you'd think they'd never broke up almost 40 years ago. The audio (dts 5.1) is icing on the cake along with the extremely sharp video. I was glad to see the video showcases each musician's talent instead of the odd psychedelic crap from the vintage tapes. The interview also provides an interesting inside look at how this reunion came together. I don't know if Rhino will ever release this on Blu-Ray, but if they don't, that will be their loss. Pick this one up and if you even slightly like Cream, you won't be disappointed.
Great Concert February 29, 2008 Daryl Pizanie (Houston,Texas) I love this recording. I like the song selection and the photography is great. This comes out clear and crisp in HD. If you like Cream, you need to get this DVD!

Second attempt at ordering, also received a blank disk. Problem exists with the DVD production.
