Product Description 3 disc set contains all 40 11 minute episodes from the second season Studio: Paramount Home Video Release Date: 02/05/2008 Run time: 453 minutes
Amazon.com SpongeBob's sophomore year on television was as loopy as season 1, way down in the underwater town known as Bikini Bottom. The 40 animated episodes on SpongeBob SquarePants: The Complete Second Season find the cackling little optimist-hero and his bizarre community back in action, defending the honor of fast-food eatery the Krusty Krab, redefining the meaning of friendship along rather disturbing lines, and presenting new challenges and opportunities for SpongeBob--which means he's almost certain to alienate and offend someone every time. "Something Smells" finds the unfailingly friendly SpongeBob plagued by an antisocial problem with profoundly bad breath, about which he hasn't a clue, of course. "Squid's Day Off" features fan favorite Squidward the curmudgeon in priceless scenes of gnawing anxiety after he leaves the Krusty Krab in SpongeBob's typically incapable hands. "You Wish/Shanghaied" is a very funny piece in which SpongeBob, best friend Patrick the starfish, and Squidward stumble upon the Flying Dutchman's sunken ship, squander two out of three wishes, and then weigh their individual preferences for that final wish. (Patrick's choice: gum.) Another classic, "I'm with Stupid," stars an altruistic SpongeBob pretending to be even more dumb than Patrick in order to make the latter look brilliant to his parents. Great stuff, and a natural high at that. --Tom Keogh

Great for the whole family! December 29, 2008 Melissa L. (Northern California) I've loved Spongebob for years and, at 25, I'm not ashamed to say it :) This is the first season of the cartoon I've purchased and it was well worth the money. My one and two year old are head over heels for the little guy and it's great to find something that's not only entertaining for your children but for yourself as well. And, surprisingly, my husband enjoyed it too...and that's saying a lot for someone who usually can't stand kid dvd's. This is a great buy!
iheartspongebob December 16, 2008 Gloria Ibarra (Calvert, TX USA) I have not recieved this item in the mail yet but I already know this is a great buy! It has every single episode from season 2. I cant wait!
I'm ready, I'm ready.... October 17, 2008 Betty L. Wilkins (peoria,Il.) I'll admit, when I first saw this series, I wasn't sure what to expect, since I rarely watched Nickelodeon, but now I'm hooked. Spongebob Squarepants is a rarity. Like the best cartoons of old, there is a bit of risqu'e as well as good clean fun and I've grown quite fond of Bikini Bottom and its weird and wonderful denizens. He might be for kids, but-why should they have all the fun?
Best SB season box set out there and has the best special features as well April 5, 2008 Ryan The Spongebob Squarepants: Season 2 box sethas got to be my favorite release of the Spongebob Season DVD's. Special features are GREAT :Discs 1 and 2 have three commentaries each and Disc 3 has a Script viewer, storyboards on "Christmas Who?" and "Mermaidman and Barnacle Boy III", A feature showing the spongebob theme song in different languages and the different animatics that different countries have known as "Around the World with Spongebob", a DVD-Rom script viewer (online only), and a commentary for "Sailor mouth". Season 2 Episodes are my personal favorites (patrick just got his bushy eyebrows, the animation team started to mess around with CG animation, etc.). The 3 discs on here may be the best 3 you purchase. Also, when (if) you BUY THIS (and any SB season box sets) know that the box is paper-recyclable 100% so PLEASE RECYCLE and help the environment. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO KIDS AND ANY FAN OF SPONGEBOB! BUY TODAY!
The kids would probably kill each other if they don't see Spongebob... December 5, 2007 Dri the Complex Lonely (USA) ...at least 3 times a week, no joke!! They live for Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, Gary, Sandy, and Mrs. Puff. But I don't and can't blame them really; Spongebob is a catch and from time to time, the show itself is actually quite funny. It all takes place at Bikini Bottom, a town underwater, away from most sharks and beneath all the humans who dwell on earth. From time to time, Spongebob and Patrick make it a rare habit to come up out of the water, and take a looksee around. Immediately, they puff up like Mrs. Puff, Spongebob's driving teacher. He never learns how to drive successfully either. He's no good in that department, and should stick to the Krabby Patties! Anyway, I'm gonna describe and then rate all of the characters and then rate a few aspects of the actual film: Spongebob Squarepants: Very silly, upbeat and so nice to everyone that is nice to him. Even if you're mean, he tries to see the good in everyone. My second favorite character. A Patrick Star: Super goofy and kinda spaced out, he's basically Spongebob's right-hand man. His personality, while goofy, consists of being nice to Spongebob but he tends to have an anger spout here and there. An OK character. B- Squidward Tentacles: Another keeper, character-wise. He's the moody, selfish and very negative critic of the series. Many enjoy his company, especially Spongebob, but funnily, Squidward doesn't feel half the happiness when around the yellow sponge. He'd rather have his hands around his neck, doing the unthinkable. B+ Mr. Krabs: Very work-oriented, and a decent man who tries to instill the work ethic into Spongebob and Squidward also. Spongebob follows, and Squidward carries on, as if Mr. Krabs said NOTHING. Not one of my favorite characters. C- Gary: My absolute favorite! I can't really pinpoint a true-blue personality to him, but he makes cat sounds, is usually quiet, which leads me to believe that he's an introvert as opposed to an extrovert, and loves Spongebob till the ends of the sandy ends of Bikini Bottom. A+ Pearl Krabs: The whiny, big-headed whale-daughter of Mr. Krabs. She's so ridiculously spoiled that I would slap her if I was an imaginary fish, residing in Bikini Bottom. She's not a bad character, and is usually super-dramatic. B+ Sandy: Level-headed and sweet, Sandy is nearly as friendly as Spongebob. Get on her bad side though, and she's unafraid to show you a piece of her mind! B Mrs. Puff: She holds one of the absolute worst jobs in Bikini Bottom; trying to teach the unteachable Spongebob to drive! She goes crazy every time she spends 5 minutes with him, and for very, very good reason. A- Cover Art: B Story: B- Dialogue: C+ Characters: A- Comic Relief: B- Overall: B- 3.85 stars.
