Product Description
Skarloey, a narrow gauge engine on Sodor Mountain, loads logs onto his cargo trucks. The logs will be cut into useful lumber at the Sodor Lumber Company. Complete train set includes Log Loader, Skarloey, cargo truck, and track. Special spur track, buffer, and new Sodor destination sign encourage set collectibility. One "AA" battery (not included) required for Skarloey engine. Measures 12" x 16" x 3".

at two, he's a little young for the small signs and even the arches of the bridge, but he can put the tracks together himself and he loves the trains; he runs them all over the house. I found him up in the middle of the night, playing with the train on the tracks. He walks all over the tracks and drags the trains with him everywhere, they are holding up very well and seem like they will be around a long time. The log tower was a bit confusing to assemble, but it works like it should and is pretty cute. The train has a little handle to dump the logs into the log tower, then you push the log holder up to the top where it gets dumped into the loader and back into the train. This is a fun set with or without the battery in the train to make it run. I got this set for under $[...] and is a great buy at that price.

I bought 3 of these in hopes of hooking them together. Individually they are somewhat fun, but of the three I bought, and a fourth set a friend gave me, ALL 4 TRACKS ARE DIFFERENT. That means that I bought 4 sets with the intention of connecting them together, as the boxes imply, and basically they are stand alone toys. Some of the trains wont even move on other tracks. Also, some of the trains don't fit in the Thomas case I bought. Its hard enough keeping toys organized with toddlers, and this incompatibility makes playing with these toys frustrating. Read the labels carefully. Even though the box mentions adapters, 3 out of 4 of my kits are completely incompatible. I'll wait till my kids are a little older and get an HO set or get some simple Hot Wheels toys next year!!

This is a fun train for the under 7 crowd, boys and girls. Our 3 year old granddaughter loves setting this up and tearing it down.
The heavy duty snap tracks are durable and easily assembled by young hands. The Engine is powered by a single AA battery, meaning no electric wires or plugs or polishing the track! The only tool needed is a phillips head screwdriver to insert the battery.
We bought 2 different Thomas Train sets, both use the same tracks and same styled engines, so they are interchangeable and are readily lengthened.
This is a fun, quickly assembled project, that is inexpensive and entertaining to young children.
