If a troll looking like this jumped out from under a bridge, she wouldn't scare anyone! A cross between the fashionista Bratz dolls and the crazy-haired troll dolls from the `60s, these Trollz are a lot more fashion-conscious than their predecessors. This stylin' troll is 14-year-old Amethyst Van Der Troll, one of five troll friends heralding from Trollzopolis. A heart-shaped amethyst belly ring—her namesake gem—is hidden underneath her satiny lavender top and miniskirt and supposedly has magical powers. A second poncho and cropped sparkly jeans outfit with a matching purse is included for a quick style update and a cell phone lets her reach her other gal pals in a jiffy. There is also a comb and several hair accessories so girls can try to tame Amethyst's wild mane. Amethyst is articulated at the arms, waist, and neck and her feet remove completely in order to change shoes or get her dressed. --Cristina Vaamonde

At first I wasn't going to buy Amethyst because I wasn't really trying to collect them all, but then I found Trollz dolls on sale for about five dollars at Toys R Us so I bought her.
Amethyst has bright pink hair. It sticks up and had a purple heart clip in it. Her eyes are light purple and big. She is smiling (and has normal sized lips). She comes wearing a purple top with a white stripe and a purple skirt with a pink stripe. She has pink shoes that are attached to her feet. To take off the shoes you just snap off the foot. Her second outfit consists of a pink shawl (she should probably wear her other top under it) and light blue pants. Accessories include a purse, hair accessories, and two combs for her hair. She has a pink jewel in her bellybutton. This is where she gets her magic powers.
The first outfit is the one that she wears on the TV show. She comes with a DVD of part of an episode of the TV show. It is seven minutes long, but I never watch it anymore since I own the first DVD and besides they play the episodes over and over again on TV. They should make more episodes.
The dolls in this set are Amethyst, Sapphire, Topaz, Ruby, and Onyx. Yolu can also get the salon with either Amethyst or Topaz and a set with Amethyst and her boyfriend Coal.

in your review you said that you didnt want your daughter playing with a doll that said the only thing she could do was cook, clean and take care of babies, but also didnt like barbie. im sorry to say mr donald but barbie doesnt promote any of that stuff either. just because they have a midge with her baby doesnt mean that barbie is making women undervalued. barbie is independent. she is a teacher, a vet, a singer, a horseback rider...she is anything you want her to be. so im sorry, but barbie is neither a role model nor a bad influence. she is a toy meant for fun. stop saying these dolls are inappropriate. they are pieces of plastic. if you let your child idolize dolls, you need help, not the manufacturers.

Hey Johnny, what is your gender? Male or female? If you are a male you should stop reviewing dolls and go play with your XBOX or whatever. You are a humiliation for young boys and also girls. You should stop reviewing for dolls and I think you like to review them because you have one of it!!!!

I OWN THIS DOLL AND I LOVE HER! (I AM A COLLECTOR.) I THINK IT'S A VERY PRETTY DOLL AND I LOVE THE BIG PURPLE HAIR. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WASTING A LOT OF TIME AND A LOT OF SPACE HERE AT AMAZON DOT COM DOING EVERYTHING BUT REVEIEWING THE ITEM THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO REVEIWING. CAN'T YOU KIDS FIND SOMEPLACE ELSE TO ARGUE AND JUST REVIEW THE FREAKING DOLL????????? (WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DISCUSSING THE DOLL HERE AND HELPING PEOPLE DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT TO BUY HER.) ANYWAY SHE IS VERY CUTE WITH BIG PURPLE HAIR, A CUTE OUTFIT AND CUTE LITTLE SHOES ON HER FEET. I HAVE HER IN MY DISPLAY CASE. I THINK SHE IS FINE FOR COLLECTORS AND CHILDREN ALIKE. My daughter received three of the trollz dolls for Christmas and asked for the other two for her birthday. She has all kinds of trollz stuff and enjoys playing with them for hours. I'm glad that there is something out there that the makes girls in this world feel like they can do anything. I want my daughter to know that she can do and be anything she wants all she has to do is work hard for it. The cartoon on in the mornings at 7am makes girls the important ones for a change. My daughter and every little girl out there should know that they are important and that they can be and do whatever they want if they just work for it. I don't want my daughter to ever feel that all she is good for is cooking, cleaning and having babies. Wake up
